A Fisherman's Retreat

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied

Our team at The Fisherman's Larder took a short break from preparing seafood last week. Naturally, we didn't stray far from the sea. We hugged the coast road and ventured just a few miles north to stay in 'The Admiral' quarters of a beautiful old fishing station.  Perched on the cliff at St Cyrus beach, with an old ice house below, it was once a bothy used by traditional salmon fisherman.

What a stunning, wild place for a getaway!

It was the ideal opportunity to do a little beachcombing too...

Location: St Cyrus Beach
Accommodation: Woodston Fishing Station
